First Match of summer League took place at Bradshaws No 4 today on what we all expected to be a shallow fishing event. The weather was very hot and we had both sides of the lake pegged, with the new members roaring to go it turned out to be a fantastic match with some close results at the top. The draw was also done for the knock out cup by myself, Gavin Rowlands and Mike Talbot the peg numbers draw for the rounds were: 1,3,6,9,12 meaning the preliminary match was today’s match at Bradshaws so all 15 anglers proceed to the knock out rounds. Today’s match was dominated by newcomer Daz Gleave who fished shallow off the wall side to bag 111lb 6oz, the other island side produced the next four positions with Colin Newton edging in front of Paul Masters and Gaz Thomas (fisherman’s way). Tom Dixon produced one of his best performances since joining club with a 75lb 14oz haul - well done Tom! Finally, a big well done to Martin Wall on the biggest fish of the day and likely to take the seasons trophy with is 14lb Carp!
