Match Analysis/Report

1st Match of Winter League took place on Moss Farm Maddison's, joined by our neighbouring club Dog and Partridge. Weather was a bit cold, with a cold breeze blowing up the venue, water levels had dropped by a good 18". 12 anglers fished which worked out well for spacing. Match startred at 9am to enable an early finish for the Manchester Derby. We stopped at 11am and all stood for two minutes silence which all shown great respect (well done lads). Then all started again until 2.02pm Corner pegs did well yesterday with new member Bernard Wall proving his worth on peg 1 from the off, landing Carp through out the day for a 39lb 7oz bag and victory over the full combined match, in the other corner peg; 11 last year's Winter League runner up Alan Bates was hot on his tail weighing 39lb 0oz for 2nd overall, and third fell to up and coming Gavin Rowlands with 29lb 3oz off peg 9.
